In short: a VPS (virtual private server) gives your WordPress sites their own guaranteed CPU, memory and storage instead of sharing them with other customers. Iridium Hosting’s VPS plans for WordPress start at $40/month for 2 CPU cores and 2 GB of RAM, and include free manual migration, SSH access on request and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Questions
VPS FAQ.
When should I move from shared hosting to a VPS?
Move to a VPS when your site regularly hits resource limits, runs WooCommerce, gets more than about 100,000 visitors a month, or needs a custom server configuration.
Will you fix WordPress problems on my hosting plan?
Every hosting plan includes support from people who know WordPress, and server problems are always ours to fix. If your site itself breaks, we’ll find what’s wrong and tell you how to fix it. Having us make the fix for you, like plugin conflicts, broken updates and hack cleanup, is part of the Manage plan, or available as a one-off job at $150/hour.
Do I get root or SSH access?
We don’t provide root access on any server. SSH access is available on VPS plans on request.
Should I choose GridPane or InterWorx?
GridPane is our default: a lean, fast stack running NGINX, built only for WordPress. Choose InterWorx if you need a traditional control panel or separate accounts for clients; it runs Apache.
Is a VPS good for an online store?
Yes. We recommend a VPS for WooCommerce stores because they need more resources than a typical WordPress site. See hosting for online stores.
Where are your servers located?
In the United States by default. We can also launch a VPS in Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore or the United Kingdom.
Will you migrate my sites?
Yes. We migrate WordPress sites by hand from any host at no extra cost.
Is there a money-back guarantee?
Yes. Every VPS comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. See our refund policy.
